초록

In this 21st century, the ability to use information and knowledge effectively rests on a set of abilities that extend beyond the traditional base of reading, writing, math and science. Teachers and students must now incorporate the technology literacy, information literacy, media creativity, and social competence and responsibility to enhance knowledge and critical thinking skills. Literacy learning involves three dimensions of learning and practice: the operational, the critical, amd the cultural. A comprehensive school program in literacy and IT needs to include appropriate engagements with all three dimensions. ICT literacy is using digital technology, communications tools, and/or networks to access, manage, integrate, evaluate, and create information in order to function in a knowledge society. ICT literacy consists of the five components: access, manage, integrate, evaluate, create. The five components represent a set of skills and knowledge presented in a sequence that suggests increasing cognitive complexity.
