Background : This study aimed to identify the awareness and attitudes of Korean adolescents for deepfake.
Methods : A total of 163 middle and high school students participated, completing a self-reported questionnaire via Google Forms.
 Results : Participants reported a mean awareness score of 3.49 and an attitude score of 4.30 out of 5. Awareness and attitude were assessed across seven categories, including risk understanding, education, misuse cases, victim protection, legal aspects, reporting processes, and prevention culture. Significant differences in awareness were found by gender (t = -2.01, p = .046), interest in deepfake (t = 3.52, p < .001), prior deepfake education (t = 5.16, p < .001), creation experience (t = 2.24, p = .026), victimization experience (t = 3.51, p < .001), and school reporting protocol (t = 3.04, p = .004). Attitude differences were significant by sex (t = -3.23, p = .002), age (t = -2.50, p = .014), interest in deepfake (t = 2.80, p = .006), and victimization experience (t = 2.51, p = .013). Awareness and attitude were positively correlated (r = .45, p < .001).
Conclusion : The results highlight the need for comprehensive,
