초록
This study takes the Korean TV drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and the Chinese TV drama Meet Yourself as its primary objects of analysis, conducting a comparative study focused on the composition and functions of community, as well as the authorial consciousness embedded within them. Historically, the notion of “community consciousness” has held a significant position in both Korea and China. It has not only served as an essential bond for the survival and continuity of social members but also as a crucial expression of traditional cultural values. However, with the advance of modernization and the spread of individualism, representations of “community” in audiovisual works have gradually weakened, increasingly giving way to narratives centered on individual choices and personal values. Nevertheless, these two dramas construct passionate, warm, and humane images of community, enabling viewers to rediscover the value of mutual support and cooperation among people, while also eliciting empathy and reflection on communal life. Moreover, due to differences in national policies and social climates between Korea and China, the social responsibilities undertaken by audiovisual works vary, lead
