초록
This paper intends to examine an appearance of Korean modern literature in the early 1920`s through the concept of `Romantic subjectivity` in La Do-hyang`s novels, rather than to understand La Do-hyang`s novels. The romantic subjectivity in La Do-hyang`s novels is most of all one of modern literary forms of `divided individual` raised around the group of 『Beakjo』 in Korean literature in early 1920`s. The romantic subjectivity in La Do-hyang`s novels is, however, a test case which tell us both the limitation and significance of Korean modern literature by showing the historical situation that the general form of `divided individual` has hidden. First of all, La Do-hyang`s novels haven`t approached to discover the deep inside factor of reality in spite of the ideal of romantic love of the mental origin of an artistic life. This is because of the abstract understanding of the ideal of romantic love. The emotional modernity advocated by romantic subjectivity made him, on the one hand, expose the violent rational modernity of fetishistic modern times.
