초록
The purpose of this study is to examine the perceived effectiveness of PBL-based convergence English classes on the development of digital literacy and instructional competency of pre-service English teachers. The research participants are 3rd year college students, majoring in English Education, who enrolled in ‘Multimedia & Creative English Education’ course using a variety of on/offline media and teaching materials. The data were collected and analyzed through the students’ PBL-based products, learning logs, and survey questionnaires. The results showed that by participating in a team project for developing creative convergence English materials for secondary school students, the student teachers’ competency of using digital tools and teaching skills were considerably enhanced. Pedagogical implications and future directions regarding the integration of PBL into teacher preparation courses were suggested.
