초록
This study was aimed to discuss the parents’ understanding on their children’s digital citizen education. For this study, we conducted survey on parents of elementary and middle school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Most parents were well aware of their children's Internet use and digital activities and think they should instruct the way to use digital contents safely, to prevent and cure digital addiction, to make their own contents and netiquette, while they did not favor digital citizen participation. They thought that digital citizenship education should be done in creative activities and regular classes, and that Information(Computer), Morality(Ethics), and Society can be appropriate subjects, while activities such as UCC, discussion, coding, theory, and comments were proper. When it comes to coach children for Digital citizen education, parents think professional instructor is the best rather than parents themselves. Parents expected their children to improve their Digital Emotional Intelligence, Digital Literacy and Digital Safety & Resilience capabilities through digital citizenship education.
