초록
The subjects of this study is the Children and Youth Art Education Center renovation project of Gimpo Booster Station. The focus of the architectural design is on to restructure the space closed to public into open and easy accessible space, and also assign a new value to the trail of the history by preserving and utilizing existing facilities. In this proposal, connectivity between entrance plaza and park was strengthened and accessibility toward facility was improved by installing pedestrian deck on the head of existing water tank. Futhermore, all of the elements of the structure, space composition and building skin were preserved as original state and a method to insert a new order was taken. Flexible space that can accommodate a variety of programs of varying culture and art with interactive media hall as the center, was inserted into a space frame which was preserved as original state. Furthermore, a circulating and three-dimensional children’s play area was planned on existing external water tank utilizing spatial structure and level difference by introducing the theory of “Circular Play System“.
