초록
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mother’s parenting behavior, stress, and paternal participation in child-care on young children’s overdependence on smartphones. The participants in this study consisted of 374 mothers residing in North Jeolla Province. The results of this study were as follows: First, young children’s overdependence on smartphones had a negative correlation with paternal participation in child-care and positive parenting behavior of mothers. Young children’s overdependence on smartphones had a positive correlation with mother's parenting stress and negative parenting behavior of mothers. Second, mother’s parenting behavior, stress and paternal participation in child-care had a effect on young children’s overdependence on smartphones. This study suggests the importance of reducing mothers' parenting stress and increasing mothers' positive parenting behaviors and fathers' active parenting participation in raising children in order to prevent overdependence on their smartphones.
