초록
This study explores the potential of “Vibe Coding” as a transformative tool for primary English education. While Artificial Intelligence offers a path toward individualized mastery learning, the lack of diverse, level-specific teaching materials remains a challenge. To address this, 24 pre-service teachers participated in a three-week project-based curriculum, developing 19 English learning applications using platforms like ChatGPT and Claude. Qualitative analysis revealed that participants successfully designed various tools, primarily focusing on 5th and 6th-grade literacy through gamified and scenario-based tasks. Quantitatively, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed statistically significant improvements (p < .05) across nearly all AI literacy domains, with particularly strong gains in prompt engineering and understanding AI principles. The findings suggest that Vibe Coding effectively lowers technical barriers, empowering non-specialist teachers to transition from passive technology users to “Educational Architects” who can create customized digital scaffolds.
