초록
This study explores the impact of ChatGPT-based AskUp activities on elementary students' English reading and writing skills. Over an eight-week period, 50 sixth-grade students participated in AI-enhanced lessons integrating collaborative tasks and peer feedback. Results indicate a significant improvement in students' reading and writing abilities, particularly among mid-to-lower proficiency learners, with notable gains in reading fluency, vocabulary acquisition, and structured writing. AI-driven interactions fostered engagement and self-directed learning although excessive reliance on AI-generated responses posed challenges. The findings highlight the potential of AI chatbots in education, emphasizing the need for structured guidance to maximize benefits while maintaining student autonomy. These results may shed light on AI’s role in enhancing language learning in primary education.
