초록
This study proposes a teaching method for conducting classroom debates as a “small public sphere” The aim is to help students as citizens of democratic countries cultivate citizenship beyond merely expanding their communication skills, a focus primarily discussed in the Korean language department. This teaching method consists of “entering the public sphere” and “communicating in the public sphere”. Communication ability and “citizenship” mainly discussed in the Korean language department, are not exclusive concepts they can be all included in the concept of “public communication” ability, which this study seeks to develop through debate education in the Korean language subject.
