초록
This paper aims to explain the present situation and several issues of reading education in Korea. Korean reading research is developed separately and independently with America. Reading research is based on cognitive psychology, but lately has a feature of interdisciplinary and socio-cultural under the influence of cognitive science and social linguistics etc. National research is developed under this world’s condition, simultaneously, according to curriculum research of Korean language education. As a result, a study of reading education is located on relation to opposed to literature education. Reading education is needed synthesis between reading education and literature education, and its solution is suggested by new social constructivism, e.g. genre theory & activity theory. Accordingly, reading is interpretation-processes of sociocultural situated-context. Its meanings must be considered as an evaluative, critical and creative activity.
